⚠️ Three Rules You Must Know Before Starting
🚫 Rule 1: Clinics CANNOT create listings for practitioners.
Every practitioner must create and submit their own listing. If you are a clinic manager or administrator, you cannot do this on behalf of your staff — each practitioner must sign up and apply themselves.
Rule 2: Every clinic MUST have at least one verified practitioner linked to it.
A clinic listing will not be approved unless it is attached to at least one practitioner who has already been verified in the SportMedBC Directory. Make sure your practitioners apply first.
You do not need to have all of the practitioners from your site listed in the SportMedBC directory. We simply require that a minimum of one practitioner be attached per clinic.
👤 Rule 3: Creating a user account is NOT the same as creating a listing.
When you sign up on SportMedBC.com, you create a private user account — this is just your login. You do not appear in the public directory until you separately complete and submit a listing. These are two different steps.

Let's Get Started On Your SportMedBC Directory Listing
Step 1 — Create a SportMedBC user account (this is your login only — you will NOT appear in the directory yet)
Step 2 — Submit your listing separately:
Practitioners: complete and submit your own practitioner listing
Clinics: complete your clinic listing — but only after at least one of your practitioners has been verified
Step 3 — Wait for verification (up to 7 business days) SportMedBC staff review credentials and approve the listing.
Step 4 — Go live Your listing appears publicly in the directory and your email is added to the membership list.
When you submit a practitioner or clinic listing in the SportMedBC Directory, you become a verified member of our community. These listings allow the public to find your services but are independent of SportMedBC.
SportMedBC is not a clinic, and does not have access to any client or patient information. All inquiries sent to listings will be deleted if they are directed to SportMedBC.

SportMedBC is a multi-user platform. Everyone who signs up for SportMedBC has a private user account to access programs, courses, or purchases.

Submitting a public clinic or practitioner listing is separate of your private user account— your public Practitioner listing is what appears in the directory.
Choose Your Listing Type:
Practitioner Listing
Must be created by the practitioner themselves — clinics cannot create listings on behalf of practitioners.
Fill out your professional details, credentials, services, and contact info.
Listings are verified and approved by SportMedBC staff before becoming public.
Once approved, your listing appears in the public directory and is linked to your private user account.
Clinic Listing
Must be created by a clinic representative.
Each clinic listing must be attached to at least one verified practitioner to be approved.
Fill in clinic details such as name, address, services, and contact info.
Listings are verified and approved by SportMedBC staff before becoming public.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: I just created a SportMedBC account. Am I listed in the directory now?
A: No — Creating a user account is only your login – it does not create a public listing. You must complete a separate listing submission after signing up.
Q: Can a clinic be listed without a verified practitioner?
A: No. All clinic listings must include at least one verified SportMedBC practitioner to qualify for approval.
Q: I manage/own a clinic. Can I create listings for my practitioners?
A: No. Each practitioner must create their own listing. Clinic Managers and administrators cannot submit listings on behalf of practitioners – this protects practitioners privacy and ensure accurate verification.
Q: Can my clinic be listed before my practitioners are verified?
A: No. Your clinic listings will not be approved until at least one of your practitioners is already verified in the SportMedBC Directory. Practitioners must apply first.
Q: Does a listing mean I work at SportMedBC?
A: No — creating a practitioner or clinic listing does not mean you work at SportMedBC. However, by submitting a listing, you are eligible to take advantage of the perks of being a Member of SportMedBC such as access to extended health benefits from Green Shield. Q: How long does approval take?
A: Listings are typically reviewed and approved within 7 business days by SportMedBC staff.
Q: Can I link multiple practitioners to my clinic?
A: Yes — However each practitioner must create and submit their own practitioner listing for verification. Clinics cannot create practitioner listings; they only create the clinic listing and link verified practitioners.
Q: I had a practitioner listing before, but now I can’t edit it — what do I do?
A: When the website was updated, some practitioner listings became detached from their user accounts. If you can’t edit your listing, you may need to “claim” your profile.
