Taking place at the North Shore Winter Club in North Vancouver, BC, the SportMed Soccer Workshops are offered free to coaches, parents, managers and players of BC Soccer member clubs, districts and leagues. A panel of SportMed experts will offer their thoughts on ways to prevent injury in the beautiful game. In the afternoon, concussions will be the focus during a roundtable discussion.
SportMed Soccer is a new program which promotes sport safety and best practices in training for soccer, and provides online access for parents, coaches and players in British Columbia.

A 30-minute workshop by Marc Rizzardo (sport physiotherapist – owner and operator of Metrotown Physiotherapy, Chief Therapist for the 2010 Canadian Olympic Team, soccer coach).
2) Preventing Injuries in SoccerÂ
A 30-minute workshop by Chris Franks (Sport Physiotherapist – UBC, former professional soccer player – Vancouver Whitecaps FC)Â
3) Building a Strong Foundation for SoccerÂ
A 30-minute workshop by Rob Williams (Kinesiologist – owner and operator of Williams Health Group (MIXX Fitness Studio and Performance Posture), posture consultant to the Vancouver Whitecaps FC)
4) Questions & Answers – Panel Discussion
