New COVID-19 Procedures

As we work towards delivering in-person training programming in this new normal the safety of our leaders and participants is paramount. Please note SportMedBC is taking all necessary precautions. We encourage all participants to read our COVID-19 Safety Plan prior to starting the program. Physical distancing guidelines will be in effect and space will be limited to comply with the most current provincial health regulations.

Other important changes include:

• New Host Locations

•  While a few of the clinic locations may have access to lockers/changing rooms, there are a few that do not. We ask all participants to arrive in their training attire and to leave personal belongings in their vehicles or at home.

• All clinics will be meeting in outdoor locations (rain or shine!)

• Clinics may have limited capacity depending on each individual host centre.

• All participants will be required to sign a waiver and Covid-19 declaration form prior to starting the clinics.

Refund Policy

Full refunds as required (less any applicable processing fees may be issued to participants up until the start of the first clinic session. Partial refunds ($75, less any applicable processing fees) may be issued to participants after the start of the first clinic session, up until (and including) the end of the second week of the program.

No Refunds may be issued after the end of the second week of the program except for medical reason. (doctor’s note required) Please direct any inquiries to SportMedBC.

COVID-19 Addendum:

  • Withdrawals due to COVID-19-related risks: SportMedBC advise persons who have cold or flu-like symptoms, or who have recently re-entered the country (or been exposed to someone who has) to not participate in our programs. If withdrawal from the program is necessary due development of illness symptoms participants will be required to contact SportMedBC for a pro-rated refund.
  • Depending on whether the registration fee is collected through the community centre or SportMedBC’s website, the collecting organization will arrange for the refund according to SportMedBC’s refund policy. Refunds will be issued by crediting the credit card used for registration payment. Refund cheques are not currently being offered.
  • In the event of clinic suspension due to an outbreak or on advice of the Provincial Health Officer, SportMedBC and its leaders will continue to support participants through online training providing it’s suitable and safe to do so.
