RBC GranFondo Whistler’s 12 Day Challenge Starts September 1st!

As our Fondo Clinic riders near the end of their 12-week training program we wanted to remind all cyclists of an exciting event taking place between September 1-12th. In lieu of the 122km ride this year, RBC GranFondo Whistler is holding a virtual challenge that is open to everyone! Your target is simple: you have 12 days to get to 55km, 122km or 152km cumulatively!

If you have kids, there has never been a better time to encourage them into the active and healthy sport of cycling. They will feel empowered with an achievable goal and your encouragement.

Entry is only $10 and 100% of proceeds go to the Food Bank. In addition, you can choose to donate to one three great causes in Cycling BC’s kids’ iRide program, Food Bank Canada or Feeding America. All of these causes have been chosen for the way they work to support families and children. Supporting our local communities has never been as important as it is now. So, set your goal, directly support your community, and share your journey: they have set up a brand-new virtual event page. Let’s Do This!

About the Fondo Clinics 12-Week Training Program

2020 marks the third year that SportMedBC has partnered with RBC GranFondo Whistler to deliver a 12-Week training program for riders in preparation of the 122km ride from Vancouver to Whistler scheduled for the second week of September every year. As with most things in 2020, the event was cancelled due to COVID-19, but with the help of our partners we remained committed and were able to deliver the program virtually and saw over 1,400 participants follow along with our weekly coaching and training emails and videos. We look forward to delivering the program in its normal format again with weekly group meet ups in 2021!
