Sid has been a physical therapist for over 23 years. His clinical interests include sports physiotherapy management of athletes with an emphasis on core stability programs that relate to upper and lower extremity injuries. He utilizes manual therapy techniques in combination with customized exercise programs to rehabilitate patients. Movement re-education through corrective exercise is an essential element of this rehabilitation process.
Sid has extensive experience working with athletes and organizations including the BC Lions, Olympians, the Commonwealth Games, World Cup Speed Skating, World Ultimate Championships and the Canadian Women’s Hockey Championships. He was on the Vancouver 2010 medical team for short track speed skating and figure skating. Sid currently works with cyclists/triathletes of all levels—from recreational/Gran Fondo to Ironman competitors and has consulted for the H & R Block/DC Bank UCI Professional Cycling Team.
Professional activities include being a member of SportMed BC, the Sports Physio BC Executive, guest Lecturer at the UBC School of Rehabilitation and at the 2017 BC Sports Medicine Congress.
He is a member of the UBC Clinical Faculty of Family Medicine for the training of Residents in musculoskeletal injury assessment and treatment. He also consults for BioInteractive Technologies (BIT) in the development of medical wearable technology.
Sid’s athletic interests include road cycling, weight training, running, hiking, ultimate frisbee, tennis and skiing. His musical skills include playing guitars and piano.
