Profile
Natalie Yu was born and raised in Western Canada with traditional Chinese parents. This allowed her to find roots in both the West and East. She has several close relatives, including her mother, who are acupuncturists and Chinese medicine doctors. This has helped her better understand this incredible medical system, as it was always her first choice of health care in her family.
Natalie had the privilege of completing her 5-year Doctorate Diploma of TCM Program at the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences in beautiful Nelson, BC. During her course of study, she also completed internships in Nelson and Vancouver, BC, and NanNing and Shanghai China.
Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture can not only treat pain and help with injury rehabilitation, it can also target specific muscles to fire to train. In addition, TCM can treat a large array of ailments such as anxiety, sleep issues, stress, chronic fatigue, headaches, digestive problems, or infertility. Natalie is passionate about treating women’s issues, and has attended specific seminars and courses for treatment of fertility, pregnancy, and post partum, including becoming a Doula.
Natalie has had the privilege of helping a large array of athletes from mountain bikers to rock climbers, to stunt performers to hockey players and skiers, especially those of the Burnaby Rugby Club, mountain bikers at BC Bike Race. She is excited to continue working with athletes like herself to not only excel at sports and athletics, but also have an efficient and smooth rehabilitation to return to sport. As a mountain biker and skier and snowboarder, she knows first hand what it is like to have severe injuries, and how important it is to have the correct type of support during injury rehabilitation.
Natalie is passionate at guiding people throughout their healing journeys. There are various ways to treat seemingly unexplainable diseases and issues. Chinese medicine likes to find the root of the problem, thus, customized treatment plans can last an indefinite amount of time. The disease or problem did not start overnight, nor can we expect it to be fixed overnight. It is Natalie's goal to help create a safe comfortable healing space, that also provides education and group support.
Feel free to contact Natalie directly if you have any questions about TCM and acupuncture, or if you would like to experience a treatment from her.
