Mark Ferguson is co-owner of O.A.S.I.S. and has been practicing physiotherapy in both England and Canada for the past 20 years. His knowledge and desire to continually learn in his field brought him to Canada after completing his Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy at Teesside Polytechnic in Middlesbrough, England.
Mark made the move to Canada to advance his knowledge and after spending time in Toronto and Alberta, he received his CPA accreditation which allowed him to practice throughout Canada, landing him at O.A.S.I.S. in 1994.
Working throughout England and Canada has provided Mark with a wide range of experience in providing extensive rehabilitation programs for international athletes, high school athletic teams, sport groups and community organizations. His interest in spinal injuries along with his proficiency in isokinetic muscle strength testing has played a key role in his advancement, demonstrating Mark’s dedication, passion and broad knowledge in the field of physiotherapy.
Mark also takes his knowledge outside of the clinic where he provides treatment to many organizations and sport teams. From 1994-2004, the Abbotsford Rugby Club depended on Mark to treat many of their players both on and off the field during games and practices and in a clinical setting. Mark was also selected as Physiotherapy Chair for the Abbotsford BC Summer Games in 2004 where he was responsible for over 40 physiotherapists, ensuring the appropriate level of medical coverage was at all events and that all athletes were attended to. His impressive management, organizational and leadership skills showcased his ability as a first class physiotherapist. This experience then allowed him to become Medical Director for the 2006 BC Senior Games.
Mark remains a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, Orthopaedic division and Sports division and the Physiotherapy Association of BC. He is also a certified Golf Fitness Instructor from the Titleist Performance Institute.
