Linda is a sport & emergency physician in Nelson, BC. She works with Whitewater Ski Patrol, and Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing, where she is a certified ski guide and mountain rescue physician. She has also worked for the Canadian Alpine Ski Team as part of the Medical Group. She has done consultations in Sport Medicine in Nelson as well as in remote communities, and has served on medical crews for various events and festivals, and as team physician for high altitude climbing expeditions in Nepal. She is an instructor in wilderness pre-hospital medicine and a co-developer of The Wilderness Medicine Course. Her research interests include: the development and prevention of arthritis and chronic pain in ageing athletes; cellular technologies for arthritis treatment and prevention; and advances in hypothermia treatment. Her personal interests include: mountain and road biking, climbing, kayaking, triathlon, and of course, skiing.
