Jon-Erik Kawamoto is a highly praised personal trainer, strength coach and internationally published fitness writer, currently living in St. John’s, NL, Canada. He started his fitness career in 2006 immediately after graduating with a degree in Kinesiology. Since then, Jon has coached and helped numerous clients reach and surpass their fitness goals, including high-level athletes, emergency personnel and general fitness enthusiasts.
As a former skinny distance runner (15:13 & 32:15 bests in the road 5km & 10km), Jon switched gears and gained almost 40 pounds of muscle. Jon has a regular column in Reps magazine and has been published over 80 times in numerous magazines and websites all around the world, including Men’s Health, Men’s Fitness, Oxygen, Canadian Running and Runner’s World.
Living by the Japanese philosophy, kaizen, Jon continually strives for continuous improvement in all aspects of life. In addition to coaching clients and writing articles, Jon is currently pursuing a master’s degree in exercise physiology.
