Profile
Jody graduated in 2004 from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and is a level 2 Sport Massage Therapist with the Canadian Sports Massage Therapists Association. In her 6 years of practice she has treated the general public, weekend warriors, Provincial, National and Olympic athletes. Having worked with the CFL BC Lions and the Vancouver Whitecaps she has excelled in pre and post event massage, as well as, recovery and rehabilitation of injuries. Jody has also been a part of the World Police and Fire Games, ITU World Championships and the BC Summer Games in 2011.
The drive for Jody to be involved in sport comes from the fact that she is a competitive athlete in the sport of curling. She has been on the World Curling Tour for the last 10 years. As a BC High Performance athlete with Curl BC and BC Female Athlete of the year 2010, she understands the demands of sport; mentally and physically. Returning athletes to the field of play is an important aspect of Jody’s practice.
In addition to an RMT & SMT (cc), Jody has also been an instructor at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy since 2009 teaching Musculoskeletal Anatomy and Kinesiology, Manual Skills 2 as well as Athletic Therapy. She enjoys helping upcoming practitioners elevate their skills and knowledge in massage therapy and hopes that her students will continue to advance the practice of massage through hands on care and research.
Beyond athletics, Jody works with the general public. A mother of two, Jody understands the demands that work and family inflict on the body. We work to survive and we need our bodies to keep up! Helping people be healthy in their daily lives is one of the most satisfying things about massage therapy. Jody loves her job wants to help individuals take control of their health by empowering them with knowledge to last a lifetime.
