Dr. Janine McKay holds a Diploma in Human Performance from Langara College and a Bachelor degree in Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia. She graduated with clinic honors and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Dr. McKay is certified by the NSCA and CSEP as a strength and conditioning specialist and an exercise physiologist.
Her professional experience includes working with many athletes from all ages, levels and sports. Most recently, Dr. McKay worked with the Cricket Canada Women’s National Team, 2012 Taekwondo Olympic qualifiers, 2012 Track & Field Olympic qualifiers, 2011 Alberta Ballet and 2011- 2013 BC Lions. She has been treating athletes using ARTâ for more than 6 years. She also has over 13 years of experience in strength & conditioning, working with a variety of athletes from many sports such as, hockey, football, baseball, soccer, volleyball, rugby, MMA and figure skating.
Currently Dr McKay is completing her Masters of Science in Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia with a focus on sports rehabilitation and sport conditioning. Dr. McKay is also a resident in the sports science residency program at the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences.
Dr. McKay strongly believes that inter-collaborative care is vital to an individual’s plan of management in order to deliver the best multi-model approach to treatment. She has a diverse clinical approach, combining chiropractic care, exercise therapy, functional assessments, Graston Technique®, FAKTR-PM, Advanced Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), FMT and Active Release Techniques®.
