Jami is a graduate from the Masters of Science (Applied) in Physical Therapy program at McGill University and also holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science (Athletic Therapy) from the University of Manitoba. After spending the last five years working in Winnipeg, MB in private practice and at the Rehab Centre for Children; she has recently relocated to Vancouver, BC.
Jami has an extensive background working in sport. Since 2009, she has been involved with the Hockey Canada Women’s program and is currently the Team Therapist with the Development Team. In 2015, Jami had the opportunity to be the Team Therapist for the Canadian Women’s U18 silver medal winning team at the IIHF Women’s U18 World Championships. She has also had the opportunity to work with Soccer Canada Women’s U20 team and Rugby Canada Men’s U17 Team, as well as NHL players and various other athletes of all levels and abilities. In addition, Jami has previous experience working with military members both in Canada and while deployed to Afghanistan.
Lifelong learning is a priority for Jami and has led her to taking courses on the SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) , FMS (Functional Movement Screen), manual therapy and she is in the process of obtaining her acupuncture credentials. Jami has been a clinical supervisor for athletic therapy certification candidates for the past five years as well as an examiner for the Canadian Athletic Therapy National Certification Exams.
When not at work, Jami remains very active and involved within the community and can often be found playing hockey, running along the seawall, hiking, biking or kayaking.
