Profile
I am a Registered Massage Therapist in British Columbia and have been practicing for eight years. During this time, I have worked with a diverse group of people.
My scope of practice includes deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, sports massage, infant massage and pre/post natal massage. In addition, I practice Hydro Therapy/Pool Therapy and remedial exercise. I have treated clients of all ages with a wide variety of ailments, with my focus being towards athletes.
I graduated from the D’Arcy Lane Institute in London, Ontario. I wrote and passed both the Ontario and British Columbia board exams. While in Ontario, I had the opportunity to work with the Olympic Rowers prior to the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. In addition, I also volunteered at the 1997 Skate Canada International Figure Skating Competition in Kitchener, Ontario.
Prior to practicing in BC, I traveled Australia and volunteered for the Australian Olympic Council. My role included managing and organizing fund raising events for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. In 2002, I was one of three Massage Therapists from Canada selected to work at the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics as part of the International Massage Team. The experience was fantastic and one I will never forget! I have also worked at the Vancouver Marathon and the Penticton Iron Man, where I was lucky to work with Lori Bowden after her gold medal race in 2002. In 2003, I traveled to New Brunswick to work at the Canada Winter Games as the BC Team massage therapist.
I hope to once again work at the Vancouver Marathon, as well as the Penticton Iron Man. So, if you are competing I hope to see you there! I hold a valid Level “C” CPR Certificate, Standard First Aid Certificate and Level 2 Coaching Certificate. In addition, I am BCRPA certified, completed the Bronze Medallion life saving course and continue to advance my training in Hydro Therapy and Sports Therapy.
