Profile
The first step in Eyla’s journey was at the University of Victoria as a varsity athlete for the Women’s
Soccer team. Shortly after, she medically retired from high performance sport which led her to transfer
to the Camosun College program for Athletic and Exercise Therapy. Her field placements working with
high-level hockey and rugby teams gave her the opportunity to witness and treat a variety of
musculoskeletal and post-operative injuries, as well as develop injury prevention techniques. She
enriched her knowledge through her clinical placements Tall Tree Health Integrated Center and The
Athlete Centre. This is where she refined her orthopaedic assessments and her application of
rehabilitative care techniques.
Eyla’s is now a Certified Athletic Therapist whose main goal is to help each of her clients meet their full
potential and get them back to their normal, whatever normal looks like for them. Eyla believes that the
key to success is curating a comfortable environment for the patient to thrive and actively participate in
their own recovery. Her calm and patient demeanour allows patients to relax and feel heard. Eyla
focuses on evidence-based and gold standard practices to help her clients feel empowered and facilitate
their road to recovery.
