Anita is the owner of Coast Therapy and has been practicing since 1997. She brings extensive experience having served on the Board of Directors for her professional association (RMTBC) for over 15 years including in the positions as Vice-President and Communications Chair, and currently sits as Chair for their Professional Practice Group for Sport (PPG-Sport). Anita has advanced training in sports massage having worked with athletes from the amateur to pro level, being chosen a lead therapist for the Host Medical Team during the 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games, and working locally with Finland Figure Skating prior to those Olympics. She and therapists from her clinic are also the therapy providers for the Coquitlam Express BCHL hockey team. She takes a special interest in helping athletes and others with chronic conditions who have had little success with other types of treatment. With extensive training in applications such as posture & structural alignment, active soft-tissue release (STR), myofascial approaches and rehabilitative exercise, her goal for all patients is to help them regain and maintain the most active and healthy life possible. She has a background herself in numerous sports including softball, basketball, kickboxing, fitness competition and bodybuilding. A devoted Canucks fan and long-time resident of Port Coquitlam, it is Anita’s passion for an active lifestyle and natural health choices that led to her career in massage therapy.
