Allison obtained her Physiotherapy degree at Queens University and achieved an advanced degree in Manipulative Therapy from the University of Western Ontario. Currently she is also pursuing her doctorate at the University of British Columbia and the British Columbia Injury Research and Prevention Unit investigating the prevention of knee osteoarthritis after joint injuries in youth and young adults. Allison is also a Clinical Examiner and Teaching Assistant in the Physiotherapy program at the University of British Columbia.
Allison is certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada, and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Allison combines her diverse training in manual therapy and innovative exercise with clinical expertise to bring a thorough treatment approach to North Shore Sports Medicine Clinics. She is passionate about integrating the latest best evidence into her treatments and sharing this knowledge with her patients.
Allison’s clinical background includes extensive experience with high performance to recreational athletes. Allison was selected as a member of the host medical team for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, working in the Vancouver Athletes Village with an international team of medical professionals treating athletes and support staff during both the Olympics and Paralympics. Allison is an avid runner and triathlete having completed 9 marathons and Ironman Canada. More recently her athletic adventures include running Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim in the Grand Canyon and multi-day trail running races.
