Tiredness is a common issue for dedicated athletes. Acute fatigue associated with training is normal and expected to settle with appropriate recovery. When training and recovery are in balance for the athlete, optimal performance is the result. With excess physical or emotional stress and lack of adequate recovery, fatigue can accumulate. For the first time, SportMedBC’s Sport Safety & Event Services team managed the on-site event medical coverage at this year’s RBC GranFondo. With help from event organizers our team coordinated over 25 medical staff and volunteers helping to ensure riders were well cared for during their journey.
