Team BC Mission Staff Announced for 2015 Western Canada Summer Games
The Team BC mission staff has been selected to lead the provincial team competing at the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games in Wood Buffalo, Alberta next August.
Chef de Mission, Diane St-Denis, will lead the team of mission staff members who will provide administrative, logistical, and performance preparation support for the athletes and coaches attending the Games. This is St-Denis' first time as Team BC's Chef de Mission. She brings with her extensive experience in sport including Executive Director of Judo BC, Coordinator of Athletics at Simon Fraser University and her current role as the Executive Director of the Canada West Universities Athletic Association.
"Announcing the Team BC mission staff is an exciting reminder that the Western Canada Summer Games are less than a year away," said Coralee Oakes, Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development. "I offer my congratulations to the mission staff and to all athletes, coaches, and managers as this final year of training and preparation begins."
The Western Canada Summer Games are held every four years, and are a key step in the development of Canada's amateur athletes. Team BC will send 450 athletes, coaches, support staff, and mission staff to the Games which take place August 7-16, 2015.
"Our mission staff have skills and experiences in a wide variety of areas and are committed to ensuring Team BC athletes and coaches are optimally prepared to perform at their best at the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games," said St-Denis.
The mission staff team is beginning preparations now and will work for the next 11 months to ensure Team BC is ready for the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games.

The Western Canada Summer Games take place every four years with participation from the four western provinces and three territories in Canada. The 2015 Western Canada Summer Games will take place in Wood Buffalo, August 7-16, with approximately 2,550 athletes, coaches, managers, and officials in 18 sports.
