Special General Meeting: Amending Bylaws

 
 


As SportMedBC continues to promote awareness and leadership in sport medicine, sport science, sport training and health promotion, we want to ensure you are part of our upcoming Special General Meeting on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 6:30-7:30PM. The meeting will be held virtually using Zoom. 
 
The Board of Directors wishes to broaden the membership and participation from the wider sporting community while still retaining sports medicine focus and control to align the direction of the organization with it's vision and strategic plan. That's why the Board of Director is presenting these bylaw amendments and they would the members to vote on it. 
 
While we are unable to hold an in-person meeting, we are pleased to offer all members from across the province the ability to participate in the upcoming special general meeting.
 
Please note all registered SportMedBC members will be able to vote online on the amendments to the Bylaws. Those unable to attend the meeting online may appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf at the meeting.

As a member of the provincial sport medicine and exercise science community, your attendance would be greatly appreciated.

As of March 11, 2022:

  • Masks are no longer required.
    • Individual businesses and event organizers can choose to continue requiring masks on their premises.
    • Reminder to the sport community to be respectful of people's differing comfort levels and that as we transition into this period, people may still choose to wear their mask.

As of April 8, 2022, proof of vaccine will no longer be required.

  • Individual businesses and event organizers can choose to continue requiring proof of vaccination for entry.
