Lynn Kanuka: Only Ten Days Till SunRun!
Only 10 days to Sun Run! Time for some Event Day Mental Imagery…
“The Start Line is sweet...The Finish Line is sweeter.”
“Every person needs to have their moment in the sun, when they raise their arms in victory, knowing that on this day, at this hour, they were at their very best.”
– H.Jackson Brown, Jr.

As your SportMedBC Sun Run Coach, I’m going to state the obvious, because I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen participants get too excited in the early stages of the race:
Don’t start too fast: Keep your pace nice and comfortable, especially in that first slightly downhill mile, heading into Stanley Park. Fortunately, for most of you the crowd will keep your pace under control. But don’t get too excited if you start weaving in and around other Sun Run participants and start picking up the pace for yourself. It’s better to conserve in the beginning so that you have more OOMPH at the end.
Envision yourself crossing that Finish Line – arms raised in victory –
