COC Pres: It's too early to panic

 

 

With no medals thus far the Canadian public is starting to voice it's frustration and disappointment with the lack of podium finishes. The President of the Canadian Olympic Committee Michael Chambers doesn't seem to share that worry though in a story published in today's Globe and Mail:

“We're not even halfway into the Games right now and we're a second-half team, we've always been a second-half team,” Michael Chambers told reporters Thursday.

“I'm not modifying any predictions now.”

The COC had initially targeted a top-16 finish at the Games but some of Canada's best hopes for a medal early in the Olympics, like gymnast Kyle Shewfelt and fencer Sherrine Schalm failed to even qualify to advance into the medal rounds.
