Well the blue skies continue! We’ve been very lucky. The Village has really filled up these past few days. All the Canadians are here now, so it’s great to see all the athletes and activity. On Sunday we had a quiet day in the medical clinic so a few of us took an impromtu tour. We walked around Olympic Green to see the Bird’s Nest and Aquatics Cube. Wow!! Then we headed for the markets to try our hands at haggling, much to Bruce’s dismay. Finally, some of us continued on to see Tiananmen Square.
Yesterday I was out at the Shinyu rowing venue with my team. The venue looked remarkable on TV, but it’s even better in person. It’s amazing to think that it’s all been man made. This is the first time rowing is in the Paralympics, so the athletes are very excited to be here and to see the venue. Hopefully the weather will hold out for them as well!
