Media Begining to Give the Paralympics the Coverage it Deserves

 

 

In today’s Vancouver Sun Jeff Lee details the slow-to-come changes in the way the media covers the Paralympics and what we can expect for 2010 Paralympic coverage in Vancouver.

Erik Lundin has been covering the Paralympics since the 1996 Games in Atlanta. He’s watched it grow from an event where “disabled were not considered to be real athletes . . . and where people saw it was Games to make the athletes feel happy.

“Now, you have elite athletes who are as professional as any of those in the Olympics,” he said.
