As Team Canada’s 2008 contingent of 331 elite athletes descend on Beijing and prepare to compete at the highest levels in the Olympic Games they’ll do so with the support of 19 of SportMedBC’s Best People. Over the coming days of the Summer Games this Beijing Blog will serve as our connection to some of the Sport Medicine, Sport Science and Sport Training insights that go into the last minute preparations as our top athletes get ready to take to the world stage and give their best.
We are honoured to have Dr. Wilbour Kelsick bringing us his unique perspective via the Beijing Blog as the Canadian medical team’s dedicated Athletics chiropractor. We look forward to his contributions as one of Canada’s strongest Athletics teams recently fielded – featuring four BC athletes – challenges for the podium starting midway through the Games on August 15th. We will also be hearing from Dr. Jack Taunton, who is over in Beijing working with the International Olympic Committee and various other practitioners from the SportMed Network as their Beijing schedules permit.
Enjoy the Opening Ceremonies Friday morning and check back often for daily Beijing Blog updates.
