Honour Your Health Challenge to receive Best Practices Award

The Honour Your Health Challenge – Sun Run InTraining, a partnership crafted and supported by Act Now’s Aboriginal Health Branch and SportMedBC, will receive a 2009 Best Practices Gold Standard at the SportMedBC Annual Meeting and Workshop, Saturday, September 26th, 2009, at the North Shore Winter Club in North Vancouver.

Honour Your Health will be in the spotlight in receiving the award at the Annual General Meeting Saturday afternoon beginning at 1:30 p.m. PT.

Prior to the AGM, BC Hall of Famer and Canadian soccer icon Bob Lenarduzzi, the President of the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, will be among the speakers at the 2009 SportMedBC Workshop, at the North Shore Winter Club in North Vancouver, B.C.

Lenarduzzi, who will be part of a panel of SportMed experts rating and debating the importance of functional screening and assessments for athletes, will talk about the growing role of sport medicine, sport science and sport training for his United Soccer Leagues (USL) club as it prepares for the transition to Major League Soccer in 2011.
