Final Week of the Canada Summer Games

They’re well into the final week of the Canada Summer Games, and Team BC is looking to wrap up their Sherbrooke experience with a strong finish.

Flag Points vs. Medal Standings

While Team BC is fourth overall in the medal standings, they currently sit in second place in flag points.

Ontario leads the way with 114.0 flag points. Team BC is in second spot with 97.5, Quebec sits third with 90.0.

* At each Canada Games, the province or territory with the greatest number of points from all events is declared the champion and presented with the Canada Games Flag. Flag points are awarded to every athlete in every sport based on performance and participation and then aggregated for a provincial or territorial total.

Team BCTo date, only three provinces (Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia) have won the Canada Games Flag.

In the medal standings, British Columbia has a firm grip on fourth place with a total of 71 medals (22 Gold, 19 Silver, 30 Bronze). They’re just three medals back of Alberta (74) for third. Ontario is running away with the overall lead, capturing 133 medals (67 Gold, 38 Silver, 28 Bronze). Quebec is in second with a total of 97.
