Since the beginning our our RunWalk programming, SportMedBC has trained over 10,000 leaders, many of whom continue to be associated with our programming from year to year.
For Vancouver Sun Run InTraining alone, we annually have around 700 leaders who voluntarily show up each week at their assigned Host Centres to introduce participants to running & walking, and guide them through the 13-week program - providing enthusiastic motivation and support. With Aboriginal RunWalk, we have trained over 250 leaders who continue to be acitve in their local communities encouraging participation in the annual program and supporting active living throughout the remainder of the year.

SportMedBC is always interested in hearing from individuals who are interested in becoming volunteer leaders in our RunWalk programs. Our RunWalk leadership is an essential element to the success of our programming. Our leaders come from all walks of life, but share an interest in physical activity and understand the challenges of starting a new exercise program, many from personal experience! Leaders should be fit and have the energy to motivate others to follow their RunWalk training schedule regardless of the weather or circumstances. Contact our RunWalk team for more information on how to get involved.
