Participants will review on-field assessment techniques, including the use of the Pocket SCAT2 tool and a review of red flags. This eight-hour workshop serves as an introduction to injury prevention and on-site management of sports related injuries. Topics covered include recognition and control of potentially hazardous situations, injury assessment and the handling of life-threatening situations, management of common injuries, referral patterns and the development of a sports first-aid kit. A certificate of completion is issued. Continuing education/professional development credits are offered for: College of Massage Therapists of BC (7) and Ringette Canada.

Ryan Leaver

Ryan is a sports Physiotherapist, in the field since 2009.   His education includes a Doctorate, as well as two Post Doctoral fellowships in Sports Medicine with the American Physical Therapy Association and their Sports Physical Therapy Section. He has also completed the highest level Diploma with Sports Physiotherapy Canada.
