This eight-hour course covers many of the taping techniques used in a sport setting through a combination of lecture and practical sessions. Safety considerations relating to taping as well as the theory of athletic taping will be covered. The taping techniques covered in the course include regional techniques for the ankle, foot, knee, elbow, wrist, thumb and finger. Procedures for injury prevention, minimizing the chance of further damage when injury occurs and for aiding the healing process are also discussed. Suzanna Moncz

Suzy Moncz CATA(C) is a Certified Athletic Therapist and Class IV Medical Laser Therapist. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Athletic and Exercise Therapy, a certificate in advanced sport massage, and is a licensed First Responder Emergency Medical Assistant.

Isabel Grondin

Isabel is a Certified Athletic Therapist and a Physiotherapist with a Certificate in Sport Physiotherapy. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a Masters in Science where her research targetted muscle trauma treatment outcomes. Isabel has been in a variety of private practices on Vancouver Island. She has spent a large portion of her careen in competitive and international sport. Isabel as held a variety of positions with Rugby Canada including that of the Lead Therapist.

Jim Verners

Jim received his post-graduate Fellowship in the College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences (Canada)in 2004. He graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Physical Education. He is also on the Board of Directors for the CCSS(C).

A former competitive runner, Jim plays recreational hockey and soccer but is most often found on the golf course.

Liz Johnson

Liz Johnson is a Physiologist based in Victoria and works with National and Provincial Training Centres with the Canadian Sport Centre Pacific (CSC Pacific) and is primarily responsible for delivering Sport Physiology services around the province with the Canadian Sport Centre's Mobile Lab. A graduate of the University of New Brunswick (B.Sc. Kinesiology) and the University of Victoria (MSc. Exercise Science), Liz has worked in the areas of neuromuscular and environmental physiology with particular interest in the effects of heat on performance.

Lori Zehr

Her interests are to investigate health promotion strategies and programs which increase physical activity levels of the population. She is also interested in the role of the exercise professional in promoting and changing behaviours that lead to a more active population in an effort to prevent and manage chronic diseases. She has over 20 years of experience in the health, fitness and rehabilitation industry.

Marcus Blumensaat

I earned a BSC in Kinesiology from UVIC and then earned a diploma in Massage Therapy to round out my formal education.  In the spring of 2012 I also completed my certification as a Sport Massage Therapist.  I use this education along with my personal experience as a former national team athlete and currently as a recreathional athlete to aid athletes in the treatment and prevention of injuries.
