We are a locally-owned physical rehabilitation offering Athletic Therapy and Exercise Physiology services. Cain Exercise Rehab’s mission is to provide high-quality, patient-centered care for rapid return to activity and function. Led by a Certified Athletic Therapist, this course will introduce participants to common athletic taping techniques through a combination of lecture and practical components. Safety considerations and theory are covered, followed by taping techniques and relevant anatomy for injuries related to the foot, ankle, knee, hip, elbow, wrist, thumb and fingers. This course is an excellent baseline for any individual looking to assist athletes with injury prevention, management, and support during return-to-play following injury. Sophia Sauter

Sophia completed her Masters in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. She also holds her Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Therapy from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and her Sports Physiotherapy Certificate. She is Campbell River's only certified Sports Physiotherapist and is passionate about ongoing professional education to update her knowledge. She is a Clinical Instructor with the UBC Masters of Physical Therapy program. Sophia has over 15 years of experience as a physiotherapist and previously owned a physiotherapy clinic in North Vancouver.

Led by an experienced health care practitioner, this workshop will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of current best-practices in concussion recognition and management. Participants will review injury mechanisms, on-field assessment techniques, the use of Sideline Concussion Tools (such as the Pocket Concussion Recognition Tool and SCAT3), signs & symptoms, concussion “red-flags”, and return-to-play protocol. Ali graduated with a Bachelor of Athletic and Exercise Therapy and certified as an Athletic Therapist in 2014. Ali is also a certified Exercise Physiologist, which is a high designation of personal training, allowing her to work with people who have health conditions that put them at risk when exercising.
