Alison Cristall Named New Executive Director of SportMedBC

SportMedBC Chairman Dr. David Cox is pleased to announce Alison Cristall as the new Executive Director of SportMedBC, effective October 1, 2013.

Alison CristallAlison returns to SportMedBC after a one year maternity leave where she previously held the position of Director, Business Development.

“I am incredibly excited and eager to be taking on this position,” said Cristall.

“I plan to continue the amazing efforts of SportMedBC in promoting leadership, public awareness and education in the areas of sport medicine, sport science and sport training. I am proud to be part of such a dynamic team and I look forward to working with our members and stakeholders.”

Prior to joining SportMedBC in January 2011, Alison was the Community Marketing leader for ActNow BC with the Ministry of Healthy Living and Sport, and worked for 2010 Legacies Now as a Healthy Living Initiatives Coordinator and as the Manager of the ActNow BC Road to Health Community Tour.

Alison has a Bachelor of Human Kinetics (B.H.K.) from the University of British Columbia and graduated from from Concordia University with a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Marketing.

SportMedBC says goodbye and thank you to RunWalk Coordinator, Deanna McLeod.

Deanna’s contract with SportMedBC has concluded, but she has taken the opportunity to move to Fortius Sport & Health.
