SportMedBC and the RunWalk and InTraining program are excited to announce that the 2017 Vancouver Sun Run InTraining Leader of the Year recipient is Sherry Baker (pictured, middle) of the Port Moody Recreation Complex Clinic! Sherry has been a longtime volunteer with the InTraining program and has taken on many roles including Leader, Clinic Coordinator and Area Coordinator. We are so appreciative of everything Sherry has done for this program. Her selfless dedication to creating a positive experience for her participants and fellow leaders is amazing. Here are just some of the kind words we received about Sherry’s leadership:
“Sherry is inclusive and supportive, and her leadership has created a uniquely supportive environment for walkers & runners alike.”
“In talking to others in the community, as soon as I mention I am participating in a Sun Run clinic and that Sherry is the leader, they know exactly who she is and often smile, commenting on how inspiring, knowledgeable and supportive she is. Sherry's reputation is incredible, she has had – and continues to have – a big impact on many people, positively impacting their health and well-being.”
“Sherry is great at keeping things upbeat and positive. She makes sure to check in with all of the runners when out on the road. Best of all, she has made the effort to call me at home to check in to see how I am doing when I miss a clinic.”
Congratulations Sherry!
